疲れていたのに、途中から体力・気力が回復してまた動けるようになること。

由来・語源

持久走などで息が上がった後に、呼吸が落ち着いて楽になる感覚(いわゆる「セカンドウィンド」)に由来し、そこから比喩的に「力が戻る」の意味で定着。

用例

I was fading around mile six, but after I slowed down for a bit, I got my second wind and finished strong.
